Mind Up Curriculum
Mind Up Curriculum
MindUP, which is strongly rooted in neuroscience, delivers to kids the knowledge and abilities they need to manage their stress and emotions, build healthy relationships, and behave with love and compassion. MindUp promotes children's wellbeing by offering educational initiatives that are based in mindful awareness, neuroscience, positive psychology, and socio-emotional learning.
MindUp is a CASEL SELect program. MindUp has been given the CASEL SELect designation is one that is evidence-based, well-designed, and classroom-based, promotes students' social and emotional competence systematically, offers opportunities for practice, and offers multi-year programming, and provides high-quality training and other implementation support.
This program can be done in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 because this program would benefit anyone. When students use this program, it becomes a way of life and helps them in everyday life. Another wonderful feature of this program is that there are specific curriculums and programs for life, for schools. and for parents!
It has been demonstrated that the evidence based MindUP for Schools program increases pro-social behavior, reduces aggressive behaviors, and enhances academic performance, particularly in math and language arts.
What really got me was the statistics presented! MindUp reports that 86% of children say that they boosted their well-being by using MindUp, that 88% percent of children who learn MindUp report continuing it throughout life at home, and 83% of children report having improved pro social behaviors. These are very high success rates and the fact that it is a lifelong learning skill is the most vital! One of the not-so-great aspects of MindUp is that some programs cost money. One of the best rated programs called, "Golden Nuggets" can only be obtained at a cost and at the moment it is sold out on their website. This "Golden Nuggets" toolkit promotes joy, optimism, and appreciation through enjoyable activities while also assisting students in understanding their brains and practicing mindfulness.
We can virtually bring MindUP to schools and the classroom thanks to a training model created by MindUp. They are currently providing a number of virtual MindUP trainings for schools, districts, administrators, and families that are both synchronous and asynchronous.
